My hair has been really dry lately and does not seem to hold any product in so I decided to do a DIY super mask to penetrate my hair and give it more life . When I look up dry hair remedies I always see the same items pop up and in different combinations, so I thought it would be a great idea to just mix them all together and see what the results are .
- Egg (1)
- Banana (1 whole)
- Shea moisture Manila honey and yogurt protein treatment (as much as you desire)
- Shea moisture beauty hack coconut oil (as much as you desire)
- Shea Moisture Moroccan Rhassoul Clay (as much as you desire)
- Apple Cider Vinegar (as much as you desire)
- Shea Moisture beauty hack grapeseed oil (as much as you desire)
- Mayonnaise (as much as you desire)
I did want my mask to be thick to coat my hair well so I made sure to not add too much of the liquids .
*You can add or subtract from this list as you please*
I did this mask before I washed my hair because I wanted to use it as a prepoo and rinse away any buildup from the mask.
When blending I suggest doing so until you get the consistency you desire.
Then coat onto hair starting with ends first and apply a plastic cap onto your hair .
You can add heat for more penetration for 15-20 minutes or leave a plastic cap on for up to an hour. Rinse well .
I would suggest using maybe half a banana or none at all unless you plan on blending it well because I had to wash my hair several times and then pick away at it until most of the banana prices were gone .
I also would do without the clay because if moisture is what you desire then you would want to do without that unless you are looking to clarify as well.
Besides those two things I did like how the mask turned out and how my hair felt and looked . My hair took to my styling products well and the dryness was not as prominent as it once was . I suggest doing any type of mask every week to help with dryness . It can either be a DIY mask like this one or a store bought mask .
